Property extension, Battle, East Sussex
Paramount to the success of this project was to make sure that the new, two-storey extension matched and complemented the original property.
The extension created a further bedroom with an ensuite and an additional downstairs garden room.
The glass link was expertly fitted by our installation team to create an extra room and flood the balcony and entrance hallway with light.
Two-storey extension in Horsmonden, Kent
The work on this project involved building a two-storey, brick extension with tile hanging at the rear of the property.
In order to enhance the family space Parker & Son were tasked with creating an open plan kitchen diner and a downstairs cloakroom.
Outside the team built a large retaining wall and porcelain patio giving a clean, crisp and modern look. Porcelain is also easier to maintain than traditional materials.
A Wren kitchen was fitted along with some bespoke cabinetry including built-in housings for the washer and dryer and a boot bench that was made on site. In addition, a media wall was built for the television and to create shelving space.
Clients Adam and Ali Tuson were delighted with the finished work. An added bonus was the pots and jars found by the groundwork team and recovered intact from putting in the retaining wall. They are now decorating the windowsills in the house.
Upstairs there is now an extra bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
Adam said: “We have been very impressed with James and his team from the initial meeting all the way through to the completion of the work. James was happy to spend as much time as was necessary to fully understanding our requirements and these were reflected in the quotation along with very helpful local market insight. The build started on time and, although it has been beset by delays in supply and bad weather, has been completed as quickly as practicable. The quality of the workmanship is excellent and the extension has been beautifully integrated into the existing house. His team are first rate, always determined to do the best possible job and being as flexible as necessary. We're delighted with the work that James and his team have done for us and would have no hesitation in recommending Parker & Son - as we already have done to friends and neighbours.”
Ali Tuson added: “James and his team have been such a pleasure to work with, nothing has been too much trouble with the design - and all so talented.”

Two-storey extension in Hellingly, East Sussex
This project involved removing an old conservatory and building a two-storey extension at the rear of the property.
What was the sitting room is now a games room/snug.
Customer Lucy Gribble said: "We are all so pleased with the work by Parker & Son. We've gone from living on top of one another to having lots of space and more storage.
"I can't fault the team. They were all highly professional and the attention to detail is exceptional. I highly recommend Parker & Son if you are considering an extension or any other type of building work."
A porch was built at the front of the house with space to hang coats,
The extension transformed the former two-up, two-down cottage into a spacious family home, almost quadrupling it in size.
There is now a large sitting room and spacious utility room. A new kitchen was fitted and the stairs were repositioned to create more useable space while the bedrooms were reconfigured and an ensuite plus family bathroom were created.
Extension and refurbishment, Bodiam, East Sussex
Originally part of the Guinness Estate, our brief was to double the size of the current property and then carry out a major refurbishment of the existing dwelling.
Our clients wanted to create the extension to match the existing façade of the building, matching materials and design while bringing in elements of modern-day living.
As you can see, the new extension blends perfectly with the original building.
Extension in Robertsbridge
When I bought my cottage in Fair Lane, Robertsbridge, it ticked a lot of boxes. It was close to the station; I was working in London at the time. It was built around 1720 and still had enough period features to retain a ‘country cottage’ feel and I loved it! Except it had a horrid flat roof kitchen extension! I needed a builder who could sort that out in a way that made the build look as if it had always been there. Parker & Son made a splendid job, everything they did was sympathetic and I can honestly say, if you didn’t know, it looks like the new building work is part of the original cottage.
Given, we live in a ‘dolls house’ with limited room, two border collie dogs, a number of cats, chickens and neighbours, everyone at Parkers were not only excellent at the building work but also so considerate working with us and the animals at very close quarters!
With any building work, we ran into some problems, but I’m pleased to say Parker & Son were able to offer practical solutions and I’m so happy with the end result.

I’d like to say a special thank you to James Parker, Rick Kirk, Mel Batehup, Wayne Dale, Fred Freeman, Andrew Leese and Jake Longley. We miss you all, and are so grateful for the work you did, it exceeded our expectations in so many ways!
